The St. Pius X cheerleading program is pleased to have a group of dedicated girls who are working hard to prepare for the 2017-2018 year. These girls are a highly talented group of athletes; the sport is concentrated with tumbling, stunting, jumps and crowd involvement. The cheerleaders consist of students from grades 9 through 12.
Through coaching changes and adversity, the girls have shown dedication, not only to the school, the team but also to themselves to obtained top three in the past two competitions. The devotion and perseverance that the cheerleaders show, is a shining example, to the school and sets a foundation for newcomers to strive for. The new cheer program focus is on cheering for all SPX sports teams and to be a competitive team. The girls will be cheering for all home games, assemblies, pep rallys; supporting the Black and Gold.
What we are looking for in new cheerleaders – The SPX cheer program is looking for new cheerleaders to come out to tryouts (May 10-12 Clinic, and May 13 Tryouts). We are looking for young athletes who are dedicated and willing to learn new things. Tumbling is important to the cheer program, but is not a requirement. Tumbling can be taught. The girls will be learning a cheer, a dance and will work on jumps and basic tumbling during tryouts. We are excited to get new faces into the program and ready to bring new cheerleaders up to speed.
You become strong by defying defeat and turning loss to gain and failure to success. - Napoleon
