National Merit Scholarship Program Update

Daniel Stotzer progressed in the National Merit Scholarship Program from semi-finalist to finalist. Robert Coyle was also recognized as a National Merit Commended Student. As juniors, their PSAT scores and National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test results earned them their recognition among the 1.6 million students from across the nation that entered the competition. Approximately one percent of all competitors are selected as finalists, and two percent are recognized as a commended student.

A spokesperson from the National Merit Scholarship Program commented, "These students represent a valuable national resource; recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success."

Stotzer and Coyle selected as NMSP finalist and commended student, respectively.
