In April there were many exciting things going on in the Science Department. During the beginning of the month, one of our new teachers, Mr. Nelson, attended a fuse maker workshop where he worked with several different devices that could make learning more hands on. These devices include a laser cutter, 3-D printer, t-shirt printer, 3-D scanner and many more. Once the workshop was over, a raffle drawing was held in which Mr. Nelson won a leap frog 3-D printer to place in the new fuse maker space that is being added to campus. Other events that have been happening in April include student registration for next year’s classes and AP test prep.
We would like to take this time to remind all parents and students that even though the school year is coming to an end, there are still several important weeks until we get there. Students need to make sure that they remain focused on their school work, especially since finals are just around the corner. This is not the time to start falling behind! For those of you who need a few extra tips in preparing for your upcoming final or AP exam here you go: 1) Practice, practice, practice. This is the only way to make sure you understand the material and know how it should be done. 2) Ask your teachers for help. If you are unsure about something, go to your teacher. They are here to help make sure you have the right information. 3) Don’t overdo it. Rest can be just as important as studying, you don’t want your brain to be fried by the time finals roll around and if you start studying early, then you will not have to cram the night before your tests!
Finally, a big shout out to those students who participated in Regional Science Fair. Great job and we look forward to seeing your projects next year!
