Cross Country 2013

Cross Country made history this season, as Kelli Reagan (14) became our school’s first ever state champion.  Her 18:22 5K time was the fastest girls time for the day in all classes.  Also, for the first time, the Lady Sartans had 3 runners make the top ten, which earns All-State honors for Kelli (1st place), Julie Gianinnin (14) (4th place) and Hannah Baca (16) (10th place).  The same three girls also made All-District Team as they led our team to the District Runner-Up honor.   As seniors, Kelli and Julie are being highly recruited by colleges across the country.

The boys team also finished as District Runner-Up with Cal Ballou (14) (8th place) and Marcos Serna (14) (9th place) making the All-District Team.  At the state meet the boys placed 6th with Felix Yepa (15) leading the team with a 31st place individual finish.

A highlight of the year was a trip to compete in the Arizona Twilight Classic at Toga Sticks Golf Course in Chandler, and participating in a SPX Alumni Luncheon while in the Phoenix area.
