“Restore All Things in Christ”
- Quarantined Students: If a student is Covid-19 positive or quarantined as a close contact, it is the student’s responsibility to immediately contact all their teachers.
- The teachers will forward lessons and work to the student. The teachers often do not know why a student is absent for extended periods of time.
- The school nurse protects the health information of the students to her best extent.
- Teachers may or may not open their Google classroom to a student because the school is not in a hybrid teaching mode.
- Students absent from school due to COVID related issues should also make appointments with teachers after school on Google meet or email to get help with any academic issues.
- If a student accesses the assigned work during the quarantine period, they will be considered present at school and will be expected to submit assignments by the established deadline. Students absent for other reasons will follow the regular absence procedures to make up work.
- Sports: Our student-athletes are doing great this year.
- Cross country girls and boys are district champions and have done well this fall.
- Girls soccer made it to the finals in the tournament but, unfortunately, lost to Hope Christian School, 2-1. God show, Ladies!
- Volleyball play tomorrow, November 9, in the first round against Artesia in Artesia at 6:00 pm
- Football plays on Saturday, November 13th against Ruidoso at Nusenda Community Stadium at 1:00 pm and tickets may be purchased online.
- The boys soccer team persevered their way to the end but were eliminated during the first round. However, they played like champions and we are very proud of the accomplishments this year. It’s a young team with lots of potential for the future.
- Parking Lot Rules: Parents who drop off students in the morning and pick up students in the afternoon, please be cautious. Administrators have received complaints from parents regarding parent behavior in the parking lot.
- Parents, please be courteous and respectful to the parking lot security men and women when dropping off and picking up your student. Do not argue with them. They are here to keep your student safe. Please follow their instructions to move your car.
- Allow the students to cross carefully in the crosswalks. Drive slowly in the parking lot--the speed limit is 10mph. Several student drivers have had occurrences with parents driving inappropriately and this has caused young drivers to endanger their car. Please be cautious--security is trying to keep everyone safe.
- First Semester Final Exams:
- The first semester finals are scheduled for Thursday, December 16th through Wednesday, December 22nd. Students only need to be on campus when they have a scheduled final. Per SPX policy, no finals will be administered early. Students who miss a final for any reason should contact Mrs. Ducaj at [email protected] as soon as possible to arrange for a time to make up the final. The makeup final will be scheduled during finals whenever possible. Any finals that cannot be made up during the scheduled finals will be administered on the following Saturdays: January 15th, 22nd and 29th. A $50 fee will be charged for each missed final unless the student missed the final due to illness (doctor’s note is required) or a death in the family (documentation required). The final exam schedule will be available later this month.
