Overview

St. Pius X School is seeking a Campus Security Guard dedicated to ensuring a safe and secure environment for our students and employees. At St. Pius X, we strive to inspire and foster a culture that supports moral, social, and intellectual growth while teaching young people to be ethical leaders in service of others.

What You Will Do

  • Patrol and Secure Premises: Regularly patrol school property to maintain security.
  • Monitor Surveillance Equipment: Identify and report illegal or suspicious activities.
  • Control Campus Access: Monitor access points and permit entry/exit.
  • Assist with School Traffic: Direct traffic to ensure safety.
  • Emergency Response: Monitor and assist with emergency drills and situations (fire, ambulance, etc.).
  • Event Security: Provide security for school events, including dances, athletic events, reunions, and plays.
  • Set Security Alarms: Activate and deactivate alarm systems as needed.
  • Perform Searches: Participate in security searches of school facilities.
  • Other Duties: Additional tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Exceptional people skills and strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to organize time, projects, and details effectively.
  • Capacity to maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Must complete security training with 3-D Security to become a New Mexico Licensed Security Guard.

Note: There will be a 90-day probationary period to assess job fit. If the employee leaves the role within one year, reimbursement for security training will be required as the license is transferable.

Skills & Certifications

  • Must complete Level I and II State Security Certification Program
  • Prior experience in security preferred but not required.

Physical Demands

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, experience working with middle school-age students, and a desire to help shape and grow our new after-school care program.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all program participants.
  • Develop and implement engaging activities that create a positive environment for students.
  • Communicate regularly with staff, parents, and others regarding program activities.
  • Maintain attendance records and accident reports.
  • Train and supervise after-school care staff, providing refresher training as needed.
  • Ensure the program environment remains clean and sanitary at all times.
  • Follow first aid and emergency protocols.
  • Provide risk management to ensure participant safety.
  • Manage participant behavior and activities, with the ability to adapt and redirect as needed.

Skills & Qualifications

Reports to: Dean of Students- High School

Our Mission:

Purpose:

The Assistant Dean of Students at St. Pius X School will work with the school’s Dean of Students to ensure that all students demonstrate moral, ethical, and intellectual leadership. This individual will also help lead the school’s efforts to create an environment that supports the growth of students to become ethical leaders of others.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Dean of Students as the point person for discipline/culture issues.
  • Working closely with the Dean of Students to establish a positive, structured, and college preparatory school culture.
  • Supporting teachers to hold all students to high and consistent behavioral expectations.
  • Serving as a point person for dealing with behavioral crisis intervention and acute behavioral issues.
  • Acting as a resource to teachers in their instructional practice, especially as it relates to issues of discipline, relationships with students, classroom management, and school culture.
  • Ensuring that the physical environment of the school reinforces school culture
  • Being highly present and visible during school hours, relentlessly ensuring the school has an exceptional school culture.
  • Proactively circulating throughout hallways and dining hall during the day, to gain valuable context on student behavior and help support positive school culture
  • Reestablish the random drug testing program
  • Modeling the school’s values and the standard for professional behavior.
  • Supervising lunch, in-between class transitions, and dismissal, making sure students are always where they are supposed to be, and ensuring a professional school culture at these times.
  • Keeping accurate student discipline records, documenting all conferences, suspensions, and phone calls for behavior.
  • Ensuring that behavioral expectations and school culture standards are met outside of the classroom as well as inside, including establishing and monitoring dining hall and open gym behavior and culture

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Middle School Counselor to join our team. This role focuses on supporting students' academic and personal growth, helping them develop the skills necessary for success both inside and outside the classroom.

Key Responsibilities

  • Academic Progress Monitoring: Meet individually with each student to track and support their academic progress, identifying opportunities for improvement and setting achievable goals.
  • SOAR Support: Assist students in the SOAR [Student Options and Academic Resources] program by monitoring and fostering their academic progress.
  • Life Skills Instruction: Teach a Life Skills class that equips students with essential strategies for managing everyday challenges, such as decision-making, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication.
