The SPX Golf teams wrapped up another successful season in district and state competition. In district, the boys were victorious over Belen, Highland, Grants and Valencia for the District Championship! They were led by Cohen Mulville, who was 2nd individually and Cristian Montoya who finished 3rd. Earning All-District were Cohen Mulville, Cristian Montoya, Tristen Toledo, Jax Mulville, and Jackson Minick. At state, the Sartans finished two strokes behind Kirtland Central to earn third! They were led again by Mulville, tied for 6th, and Montoya, 9th.
Out of eleven tournaments this season, the Lady Sartans won six, three runners-up, and a third-place finish. The girls finished second by two strokes in the district championship and tied for 3rd at state! Individually, Taylor Sarracino tied for 6th at state to earn All-State. Also in the top ten was Emeline Armijo in 9th. Girls making All-District were Taylor Sarracino, Emeline Armijo, Madison Armijo, and Macy Freeze.
Graduating this year are Emeline Armijo, Carolina Maestas, Jackson Minick, and Jessica Otero. These Sartans will be sorely missed. Their exit leaves room for new players to join the team this coming September, so start practicing for tryouts next fall. Thanks to XL Sports Photography for the great photos.
