Questions and Information

What is the "Take A Seat in History" campaign?

This campaign offers an opportunity to sponsor new seats in the St. Pius X Fine Arts Center theaters (Stage 1 and Stage 2) as part of a once-in-a-generation renovation. Your sponsorship includes a personalized nameplate, which will become a permanent part of the space.

Why are the seats being replaced?

The seats in Stages 1 and 2, which is just shy of 600 total, have served us well for nearly 50 years. This renovation is part of our ongoing efforts to enhance the Fine Arts experience for our students and audiences.

How does my sponsorship benefit the school?

Your sponsorship directly supports the SPX Fine Arts programs, including drama, band, orchestra, choir, and dance by helping to fund the purchase and installation of these seats, as well as general maintenance and improvement of these cherished performance spaces.

How much does it cost to sponsor a seat?

Each seat sponsorship is $400.

What does sponsorship include?

Sponsorship includes a personalized nameplate affixed to a seat.

Can I choose what is engraved on my nameplate?

Yes! You can personalize your nameplate with:

  • Your name or family name
  • A tribute to a loved one
  • Recognition of a graduating class
  • A business or organization name

Are there any restrictions on nameplate text?

Yes, messages are subject to approval to ensure appropriateness. Sponsors will have three lines (20 characters each, including symbols and spaces) to personalize their seat. Number of lines and character limits will be listed as a reminder during the ordering process.

How long will the nameplate remain on the seat?

The nameplate will remain affixed to the seat for the lifetime of the seat.

Can I sponsor a seat as a gift?

Yes! Seat sponsorships make a meaningful gift for loved ones, friends, or organizations.

Can I sponsor a seat in memory of someone?

Absolutely. Many sponsors choose to memorialize loved ones or SPX alumni.

Can I choose my seat?

Seats will be assigned randomly by the Advancement Office on a first-come, first-served basis, but seat sponsors will be able to choose whether they want their seat located in Stage 1 or Stage 2.

Is there a limit to how many seats I can sponsor?

No, you can sponsor as many seats as you'd like!

How do I pay for my sponsorship?

You can pay securely online at Take A Seat

Is my sponsorship tax-deductible?

Yes, your sponsorship is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. You will receive a receipt for your records.

Can I pay in installments?

Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate installment payments at this time. Full payment is required at the time of purchase.

Do I own the seat I sponsor?

No, this is a naming opportunity only. Sponsorship does not imply ownership or reserved use of the seat during events or performances.

Will I be able to sit in my sponsored seat at events?

Seating for events will remain general admission, and there is no guarantee that you will be able to sit in your sponsored seat. Please know that someone may be sitting in your sponsored seat if/when you arrive for an event.

What happens if seats sell out?

If all seats are sold, additional opportunities to support the Fine Arts Center may be offered in the future.

When will the new seats be installed?
