Campus Ministry
Campus Ministry is the Spiritual Heart of St. Pius X Catholic High School.
Campus Ministry provides the opportunity for our students, administrators, teachers, and staff to enhance their faith and spiritually and to integrate Catholic values in their lives. It is open to students of all religious traditions and those who may not belong to a church, synagogue, mosque, or temple but want to explore their relationship with God. Campus Ministry involves fun, prayer, conversation with each other to discuss how faith is a strength and resource in the struggle of pressure and demands of a student.
The core purpose of the campus ministry is to:
Invite - A desire for every high school student to know the all-encompassing love of God. By personal invitation, students practice a life of faith in a community who is living out what it it means to be a disciple of Christ. The faith community is always open and inclusive to all people, and authentically reflects the diversity and unity of the kingdom of God.
Equip - Providing opportunities for students to become growing, serving, learning and leading disciples of Jesus Christ in the tradition of the Catholic Church. Equipping happens through worship, service and small groups so that they live transformed lives and the world will be a better place.
- Student leadership - Campuses like ours are the primary place that students have an opportunity to put their ideas to action, practice how to lead, and make a difference in the world around them. Campus Ministries are a leadership incubator that encourages and fosters leadership inside and outside the Church. Because of a student’s participation in campus ministry, the student will be able to know they are called by God to make a difference in the world through their gifts and recognize a calling to serve Christ through lay, clergy, and religious vocations.
- Service - Campus Ministries serve the campus by providing opportunities for students to grow in their faith through serving others. Service opportunities can also occur through instilling a sense of justice and morality in key issues in our society on campus, and addressing the needs and pain in the communities in which the campus resides.
- Worship and Prayer - A gathering of the campus community to share their faith, learn how to be a disciple of Christ, and to be sent out to make the world a better place. Retreats also help stimulate the purpose of a gathered community who seek to follow Christ and transform the world.
Send - Help all students to hear God’s call and use their gifts and talents to serve and lead the Church.
Invocation - With student leadership, may they find new and effective ways for being Catholics leaders, in their community.
Hope - to embody hope for the future of the Catholic Church, and raise up a new generation of disciples of Jesus Christ to bring Joy to the world.
